The 1999 Women’s World Cup proved that women’s soccer has been embraced by the American public. The Women’s National Soccer Team became the “American Sweethearts” of sports following the 1999 World Cup and in 2006, seven years later, continue to successfully give aspiring players successful heroines to model themselves after. These women are examples of empowerment, strength and beauty. The So Cal Blues Holiday Soccer Camp will give young players who attend an opportunity to work with and meet some of these women up close and personal.

With the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup next summer in China, shortly followed by the 2008 Olympic Games also hosted by China, we have a unique opportunity for Southern California's female soccer players to take advantage of the residency, visibility, preparation, and tournament qualification of our Women's National Team Players in nearby Carson at the Home Depot Center. Each WNT game will be nationally televised and will allow young soccer players to identify with these outstanding athletes and role models.

With the holidays nearly upon us, this December 28, 29, and 30 The Southern California Blues are inviting Women's National Team Player Leslie Osborne to direct and run a special holiday soccer camp for young So Cal Blues Players and Club Invitees whose acceptance to the camp will be subject to camp approval.

Coaching at the camp along side Leslie Osborne will be several accomplished women's players who have also played soccer at the highest levels as well as key staff coaches from The Southern California Blues. Joining in the fun and assisting all of the coaches will be several accomplished So Cal Blues senior players to give the campers even more positive role models to emulate and rub shoulders with.

These outstanding Women's Soccer role models and expert professional coaches promise to make this holiday soccer camp a memorable soccer experience that will leave a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to attend.
