camp details

Hello, my name is Leslie Osborne and I am 23 years old. I grew up in Wisconsin playing on premier club teams in both Milwaukee and Chicago. I was part of the Olympic Development Program since I was 11 years old and played with the youth national teams since I was fifteen. I was also part of the U-19 World Championship team in 2002. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend Santa Clara University where we won the national championship in 2001 and made final four appearances three times. I graduated in 2005 and decided to help coach SCU in the fall of 2005. I have played soccer at the highest levels in the world thus far and am looking forward to continue my coaching. I love this game and committed to helping girls achieve their dreams. I was once where they may be now.

I began playing soccer at 10 years old and have been playing ever since. I fell in the love with the game the moment I touched a ball and knew I wanted to play for the US Women's National team one day. After being cut from the 2004 Olympic team, I am now a more experienced player and leader on the team today. The leadership that I have gained through the years has helped me evolve into the person I am today on the field and off. I was team co-captain for our U19 World Championship team and was college captain for 3 years at SCU. One day I hope to help lead our U.S. Team to continue to be the best in the world. I encourage every young girl to go after their dreams!

After meeting the So Cal Blues staff and players, I knew I wanted to somehow become involved with their impressive program. The camp that I will be directing is designed for young players whose aspirations are to someday play at the highest levels, the Olympic Development Program, or Division I college soccer. Not only will we work on soccer skills and tactics but also on our mental preparation and approach to the game. The camp coaches who will join me would like to make ourselves available to both players and parents to help answer questions they may have about education, college, etc.

My personal goal is to have all the girls leave camp better prepared for future soccer experiences, both mentally and physically. I look forward to meeting you all at camp and having some fun. I wish you the best of luck in your future games along with a happy and healthy holiday season.

See you soon,
